Our Story

In the 1870s, a chemist and pharmacist named Albert D. Foster suffered painful burns during a lab accident. Determined to find relief, he set out to develop a soothing ointment. After 15 years of dedicated research and testing, he created what would become known as Mecca Ointment.

Initially sold only in his pharmacy to loyal customers, Mecca Ointment quickly gained a reputation for its effectiveness—not just for burns, but for treating all kinds of minor wounds and skin irritations. Word spread, demand grew, and what began as a local remedy soon became an international success. Mecca Ointment found its way into homes across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom.

Folks refer to Mecca Ointment as the trusted household remedy. It has been passed down through generations of families because it works. And more than 125 years later, Mecca Ointment remains a family tradition.
